Ron Franklin has been dismissed from ESPN on Tuesday after remarks made at a production meeting prior to the Chick-fil-A Bowl.  The remarks, deemed highly inappropriate, sidelines the ESPN commentator who was worked there since 1987.

Accord to Sportsby Brooks, the verbal exchange of the sportscasters were definitely a point of contention that was reported by a third party in addition to Edwards:

When she did, Franklin said to her, “Why don’t you leave this to the boys, sweetcakes.”Edwards responded to Franklin by saying, “don’t call me sweetcakes, I don’t like being talked to like that.”Franklin then said, “okay then, a–hole.”

“Based on what occurred last Friday, we have ended our relationship with him,” Josh Krulewitz, a spokesman for ESPN, told the New York Times on Tuesday.
