The offensive tackle market is rapidly clearing up.
The Oakland Raiders will re-sign left tackle Donald Penn, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
Penn was scheduled to fly to New York today to visit with the Giants. Now that meeting won’t happen.
Penn’s wife posted a short video on her instagram account saying “Celebrating success” with the hashtags #StayingHome and #JustWinBaby.
The 32-year-old blocker had a solid two seasons in Oakland and is the picture of durability, having made 140 consecutive starts dating back to 2007.
Keeping Penn on Derek Carr’s blind side will ensure continuity on the Oakland offensive line. The signing also allows the Raiders to keep high-priced free agent Kelechi Osemele at guard, giving the Raiders one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Somewhere Carr is smiling ear-to-ear.
