In an era of exposition and voyeurism, where lives are microblogged, tumblr’d and podcasted, it should be no surprise that Shiba Inu Puppy Cam, in front of which a couple purporting to live in the San Francisco area raised a litter of six Shiba Inu puppies, became an Internet sensation, according to Time magazine.
Five puppies of the Shiba Inu persuasion (it is a Japanese hunting breed), which were born in October 2008, were adopted three months later. That seemed to be the end of that.
The live stream has attracted an audience of more than 18 million live views (and another 15 million viewers of recorded videos), becoming the most popular video for Ustream, an Internet company that offers streaming video on its website, according to Shari Foldes, a spokeswoman for the company.
