Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have married in a Christian ceremony at a royal palace in India.
The Bollywood superstar and the Texan singer, formerly part of the Jonas Brothers, wed before family and friends in one of India’s most opulent royal palaces, Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhavan Palace.
The couple is expected to also have a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony and host a reception in New Delhi next week.
The newlyweds were congratulated by Ralph Lauren, who designed a custom gown for the bride, 36, and dressed Jonas, 26, along with the entire wedding party.
Chopra, 36, who headlined three seasons of the crime drama Quantico, is one of Bollywood’s highest-paid actresses with acting credits in several big-ticket films.
Time magazine named her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2016, while Forbes magazine included her in a list of the world’s 100 most powerful women last year.
Nick Jonas, 26, and his brothers Kevin and Joe formed a band, The Jonas Brothers, in 2005 and soared to fame as members of Disney’s stable of teenage stars. The band split up in 2013.
He has since gone solo, with hits including Levels, Jealous and Chains, and was a mentor alongside Demi Lovato on The X Factor.
According to Chopra, her relationship with Jonas began when he sent her a direct message on Twitter in 2016. But the actress didn’t meet the singer face-to-face until 2017, when Jonas approached her at a party, got on one knee and said, “You’re real. Where have you been all my life?”
The couple first took their romance public in May of 2018 and announced their engagement in August.
It is the first marriage for the 36-year-old Chopra and the 26-year-old Jonas.
The couple had been posting social-media photos of themselves among family and friends in India for more than a week.
