U.S. Figure Skating’s international committee went straight by results in all four disciplines at the U.S. Championships that ended Saturday. Late Saturday, the federation announced that the top two finishers in the women’s event, Rachael Flatt and Mirai Nagasu, and the top three ice dance finishers were going to Vancouver next month.
The dancers are Meryl Davis and Charlie White; Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto; and Emily Samuelson and Evan Bates.
The number of spots was determined by results at the previous world championships. To get three, a country’s top two finishes had to add up to 13 or less.
The U.S. has three spots in the men’s event and two in pairs.
