BCS national championship tickets are the most desired in college football. The BCS national championship tickets haven’t always been punched easily, however. Last minute controversy has happened before, as severalĀ teams have tripped up at the finish line in the past. Even last year, Texas was inches away from being knocked out, as their struggles against Nebraska were a sign of things to come. However, the BCS national championship tickets were sent out to Oregon, Auburn and their fans without a problem yesterday.
Today, BCS national championship tickets will officially be sent out to Oregon and Auburn, as their 1-2 finish is assured. TCU’s hopes to crash the party were finally snuffed out before long, leaving college football devoid of another controversy. The Horned Frogs would have been a fresh face for the final game, although the Tigers and Ducks are far from the usual suspects. For all of their tradition, Auburn hasn’t been this close to a title in over 50 years, while Oregon has never been this close in their history.
For the very first time, Auburn and Oregon fans will get BCS national championship tickets, as both teams finally went over the hump. The memories of their 2004 snub have been washed away for the Tigers, while the Ducks took their second straight step up under Chip Kelly.
On January 10, both teams can make the biggest leap of all, as Auburn and Oregon have over a month to prepare. The BCS national championship hype will officially kick off tonight, when the two actually get their tickets to Glendale.
