Jake Pavelka, “The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love“, shocked fans of the show by choosing to propose “bad girl” Vienna Girardi, rather than fan favorite Tenley Molzahn.Vienna tearfully agreed to marry the commercial pilot on the Verdant Island of St. Lucia, the setting for the two-hour finale.
Before this season, Jake had won over fans before being spurned by the previous Bachelorette, diminutive Canadian Jillian Harris. And he’ll have a chance to maintain his reality fame, as “Dancing With the Stars” host Tom Bergeron revealed Jake to be the final contestant on the next season of ABC’s popular dancing competition. Melissa Rycroft, the “Bachelor” contestant chosen (and later spurned) by Jason Mesnick in Season 13, finished third in the eighth season of “Dancing With the Stars.”
Following the finale, Tenley got to face Jake for the first time since their breakup on the “After the Final Rose” special. Her first words to him — “You smell so good!” — seemed to suggest that she wasn’t yet over him. Though audiences expected Tenley to get a second chance at love and take over as the new bachelorette, the producers delivered yet another surprise. Host Chris Harrison revealed that Ali Fedotowsky, who opted to leave the show early to avoid being fired, will star in next season’s “The Bachelorette.”
