Florida, DJ Erick Morillo (49 year old) was best known for house music and the 1993 hit “I Like to Move It,” which is featured prominently in the “Madagascar” animated film franchise, he found died in his LaGorce Drive home following a 911 call Tuesday morning (10:42 a.m). Detectives went to the scene and are in the preliminary stages of an investigation.

There were no apparent signs of foul play, but the investigation remains opens. Morillo’s cause of death will be determined by the Miami Dade Medical Examiner’s Office.

Morillo’s death comes about a month after he was arrested on rape charge. He had been free on a $25,000 bond, and his next hearing was scheduled for Friday. He had been accused of raping a woman while she slept at his house after a party. Investigators said they identified Morillo’s DNA from a rape kit.

Morillo was a three-time Best International DJ winner, and his hit song “I Like to Move It” featured prominently in the Madagascar animated film franchise.

The song, released under the pseudonym Reel 2 Real, reached number six on the Australian charts.
