David Nelson, who starred on his parents’ popular television show “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” has died. He was 74.The actor died Tuesday at his Century City home in the Westside of Los Angeles of complications from colon cancer, his publicist Dale Olson told The Los Angeles Times.

The actor, along with his parents and his teen brother, portrayed a typical American family’s everyday life and won acclaims from the audiences across the country. The show, which based on a 1952 radio piece titled “Here Come the Nelsons,” ran for 320 episodes from 1952 to 1966 on ABC. Later he also directed some episodes.

Aside from small screen, Nelson also played in some films such as “The Big Circus,” “Day of the Outlaw,” and “Cry-Baby.” In 2006, Nelson was nominated for a TV Land Award for “Ozzie and Harriet.” He was also honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
