This coming March 2011, Starbucks has recently changed its logo and unveiled a new design for it as celebration of 40 years of being in the coffee business. Apparently, the company dropped the words “Starbucks” and “Coffee” from its standard logo which they are using since 1992.
In a statement, Starbucks Chief Executive Officer Howard Schultz said that the Starbucks Siren “has been there through it all. Now, we’ve given her a small but meaningful update to ensure that the Starbucks brand continues to embrace our heritage and also ensure we remain relevant and poised for future growth.”
Various reaction sprouted in this new logo of Starbucks. “I don’t want the new logo of Starbucks! They just kept zooming. The next one’s going to be just her nose and mouth”, a Starbucks critic said. Meanwhile, in another comment of a Facebook user, he said: “The new logo of Starbucks seems fine. Really not much of a change. Same fish-lady, reversed colors, no words.”
