Today is National Cupcake Day, and Los Angeles has no shortage of places to celebrate. Since Yummy Cupcakes opened in 2004 and Sprinkles opened in 2005, more bakeries have jumped on the cupcake bandwagon to deliver sweet delights to patrons all over the city. Now, we’d prefer it if every day is Cupcake Day.

If you are in LA, try to visit this place:

9635 S Santa Monica Blvd.
Beverly Hills, CA 90291

Sprinkles opened its doors in 2005, and is often credited with starting the Los Angeles cupcake craze that is still going strong 5 years later. Because it has always specialized in cupcakes, Sprinkles has been able to experiment with different tastes, and carries over 20 flavors including some you wouldn’t necessarily expect like Lemon Coconut or Chai Latte. This LA staple also carries seasonal flavors like Vanilla Peppermint and Eggnog Spice, which you can try at the Beverly Hills cupcakery before the holidays are over.

Or, visit MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream and Treatery: The chain will be giving out a free ice cream cupcake with the donation of canned goods from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today.

“We are excited to use National Cupcake Day as a platform for MaggieMoo’s to collect food for local food banks,” said Jenn Johnston, chief marketing and operations officer for MaggieMoo’s parent company. “Also, National Cupcake Day is a fabulous way for us to reward our valued customers with MaggieMoo’s unique ice cream cupcakes.”
