grammys2010logoTaylor Swift, Beyonce, Lady Gaga were having a great Grammy night. The live show hadn’t even started, but the country star, Taylor Swift, who is nominated for eight trophies, grabbed two big awards during the pre-telecast program. She won the best country song for “White Horse” and best female country vocal.

“This is my first Grammy, you guys,” said a beaming Swift, 20, accepting the award. “I mean, this is a Grammy! I live in awe of the people I was nominated against in this category.”

taylorswiftgrammys2010Taylor Swift faced fierce competition from Beyoncé, who cleaned up at pre-telecast ceremony, winning four of the astounding 10 Grammys for which she was nominated.

Beyonce,the R&B diva earned best contemporary R&B album for I Am . . . Sasha Fierce. She also won best traditional R&B performance for “At Last” and best female R&B performance for her hit “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” which also won best R&B song.

Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood also claimed early Grammys, though they weren’t on-hand to accept the awards in person. The Aussie star won best male country vocal performance for “Sweet Thing,” while Underwood earned best country collaboration for her duet with Randy Travis, “I Told You So.”

Meanwhile, six-time nominees the Black Eyed Peas earned three early awards, including best pop vocal album for The E.N.D., while Maxwell, who also has six nods, claimed two trophies, including best R&B album for his Blacksummers’ Night.
