So much emotion came from the Michael Jackson tribute during the Grammy Awards on Sunday night (January 31). Lionel Richie, Jackson’s longtime friend and “We Are The World” collaborator  introduced the set, saying Michael “dared to believe that he could make the world a better place.”

As the performance began, we heard the timeless icon’s voice talk about the how he hated pollution and destruction of the earth. “That stuff really bothers me,” Jackson said in the recording. “That’s why I write these kinda songs, to give some kind of awareness and awakening and hope to people. I love the planet. I love trees. When the colors are changing in the leaves, I love it.” The recording led into Jackson’s “Earth Song.”

Usher followed up MJ’s vocals, walking onstage singing, “Did you ever stop to notice/ All the blood we’ve shed before?/ Did you ever stop to notice/ The crying Earth, the weeping shores?”

“What have we done to the world?” Jackson’s voice came back in. Behind the performers was a mini-movie, which was featured in the concert film “Michael Jackson’s This Is It,” playing on huge screens. The film was in 3-D, and you could see celebrities in the audience such as Beyoncé and Rihanna wearing 3-D glasses.

“What about flowering fields?” Carrie Underwood came out singing. “Is there a time?/ What about all the dreams/ That you said was yours and mine?” Jennifer Hudson then joined in, and Smokey Robinson came next.

As the song ended, they all turned, with their backs facing the audience, to look at photos of the late Jackson on screens that hung above the stage.

Jackson’s children, Prince Michael and Paris, accepted a Grammy lifetime-achievement award for their father after the performance.

“Our father was always concerned about the planet and humanity,” Prince said. “Through all his hard work and dedication, he has helped many charities and donated to all of them. Throughout his songs, his message was simple: love. We will continue to spread his message and help the world. Thank you. We love you, Daddy.”

David Nordahl, who painted the angel painting titled ‘Michael’ and many others for Jackson upon demand, said that the King of Pop “thought it was great with a little ‘tongue-in-cheek’ flavor,” according to The New York Post.

Ian Halperin, who penned the best-selling Jackson biography ‘Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson,” tells PopEater that “Apparently, there are at least 75 other such artworks that … have yet to be revealed in public. The family, from what my sources tell me, are not thrilled at all by the release of these portraits.”

The Post went on to call the painting “weird” in its headline, leading with the line: “Thank heaven for little boys.” Similarly, The Huffington Post declares the painting “creepy.”

No matter how the press or fans view the paintings, Halperin says people shouldn’t start reaching for analogies with the painting. Other paintings that Nordahl did cast Jackson in the light of Peter Pan, King Arthur and a superhero.

On Wednesday, a judge said Jackson’s estate will bear the funeral costs, which were characterized by an attorney as “extraordinary.” It was disclosed in court that 12 burial spaces were being purchased at Forest Lawn Glendale, about eight miles north of downtown Los Angeles, but no details were offered on how they would be used.

Jackson will rest in the cemetery’s Great Mausoleum with Hollywood stars including Clark Gable, Jean Harlow and W.C. Fields.

Jackson’s funeral won’t end the legal drama over his drug-induced death at age 50, which authorities have labeled a homicide. No criminal charges have been filed over his June 25 death, which came on the cusp of London concerts meant to restore Jackson to his once-incandescent stardom.

Last week, coroner’s officials said they believed Jackson’s death was homicide, and his death certificate has been amended to reflect that. It cites “injection by another” as the fatal injury.

Investigators have said a mix of the powerful anesthetic propofol and another sedative killed the pop singer. The new record lists “acute propofol intoxication” as the main cause of death and “benzodiazepine effect” as another significant contributor.

The certificate does not mention Dr. Conrad Murray, who was Jackson’s personal physician. He told detectives that he gave the singer a series of sedatives and propofol to try to help him sleep.

The coroner’s determination of homicide makes it easier for prosecutors to seek criminal charges, but does not necessarily mean a crime was committed.

Informed sources tell us lawyers for the estate will neither support nor oppose the motion — but rather they will leave it to the judge.

A hearing is set for tomorrow morning at 9:30.

The document was updated to reflect the L.A. County Coroner’s report which ruled Jackson’s death a homicide.

The report also showed Michael’s main cause of death was “acute Propofol intoxication” and a contributing factor was the presence of mulitple anxiety and insomnia medications in his system.

And now to link it all together … a police affidavit shows Dr. Conrad Murray told cops he injected Michael with Propofol right before he died.

Dr. Conrad Murray’s statement to LAPD detectives lays out a timeline in which Dr. Murray administered Propofol at 10:40 AM and then ten minutes later (10:50) he walked out of the room, went to the bathroom and returned two minutes later (10:52) to find Jackson was not breathing. He did not have anyone call 911 until 12:21 PM … approximately an hour-and-a-half later.

Sources say cops are suspicious of Dr. Murray’s account. They say when Dr. Murray was interviewed by them two days after Jackson died — his lawyer by his side — the doctor’s account seemed “scripted.”

So when did Jackson really die? Rigor mortis typically doesn’t set in for at least 3 hours, and often longer. If rigor mortis has not set in, the only way to approximate time of death is by body temperature. Once a person dies, their temperature eventually rises or falls to the temperature of the environment. For example, if Jackson were in a 70 degree room, his body temp would drop to 70. The body temperature typically drops a degree to a degree and a half per hour, but it’s dependent on the ambient temperature.

Here’s the problem — when paramedics arrived the room was sweltering. So Jackson’s body temperature could register in the 90 degree range, even if he were dead for a long time. But we’re told paramedics did not get a read on his body temp because they were busy performing CPR.

Bottom line — it’s possible Jackson could have been dead much longer than Dr. Murray said. There’s no scientific way of knowing.

This video below shows that Michael Jackson was still alive after his dead body was transported to the Los Angeles Dept. of Coroner I checked the license plate number and it looks like the King of Pop is jumping out of the same van, his dead body has been in. I got the original video tape from a trustworthy source. I know him for years. And I am sure it´s real and Michael is alive.

Michael Jackson had lethal levels of Propofol in his system when he died, this according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Houston.

Dr. Conrad Murray told cops he had been treating Jackson for 6 weeks for insomnia — giving him 50 milligrams of Propofol every night through an IV.

Murray told cops he feared Jackson was getting addicted so he reduced the dosage to 25 mg.

The morning Jackson died, Dr. Murray gave Jackson valium at 1:30 AM. Murray said the valium didn’t work so he gave the singer an IV injection of lorazepam — an anti-anxiety drug. Murray told cops Jackson was still awake, so he then gave him midazolam — a sedative.

Murray gave Jackson more drugs. He says at 10:40 AM, he administered 25 mg of Propofol. Dr. Murray told cops Jackson repeatedly demanded the drug.

As we first reported, cops found 8 bottles of Propofol in Jackson’s house after he died, but they do not know where it was purchased.

Cops also found Valium, Tamsulosin, Lorazepam, Temazepam, Clonazepam, Trazodone and Tizanidine, along with the Propofol.

The various drugs were prescribed by Dr. Murray, Dr. Arnold Klein and Dr. Allan Metzger.

Dr. Murray reportedly told cops 10 minutes after administering Propofol … he “left Jackson’s side to go to the restroom and relieve himself. Murray stated he was out of the room for about 2 minutes maximum. Upon his return, Murray noticed that Jackson was no longer breathing.”

Dr. Murray says he began CPR and at some point ran downstairs and asked the chef to send up Prince Jackson, the eldest son, then Murray continued performing CPR.

Dr. Murray says he noticed that Jackson wasn’t breathing at around 11 AM. He was then on the cell phone for 47 minutes with 3 separate calls, from 11:18 to 12:05. The 911 call came in at 12:21 PM …. a much longer delay than originally reported.

Dr. Murray told cops other docs had administered Propofol to Jackson, including Las Vegas Dr. David Adams. Dr. Murray said he was at a cosmetologist’s office where Dr. Adams gave Jackson Propofol.

Interestingly, according to the warrant, Dr. Murray refused to sign the death certificate at the UCLA Medical Center.

UPDATE: If Dr. Murray is charged with a crime, there’s a statement in the affidavit that could be evidence of a consciousness of guilt. The document also states both “UCLA doctors and L.A. Fire Dept. paramedics stated that Dr. Murray had only disclosed that he had given the medication Lorazepam [Ativan] to Jackson prior to his medical emergency.” Dr. Murray did not disclose that he had given Jackson Propofol.

Michael Jackson will be buried on September 3 — instead of August 29 as originally planned.

According to a statement released by the family, the burial will be at Holly Terrace in The Great Mausoleum at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, Calif. — and will be limited to family and close friends.

Joe Jackson, Michael’s dad, told us the burial would be delayed, but the day they wanted it changed to — August 31 — became problematic because of schools re-opening on that day.

So Joe was right — who’d have thunk it?

Several witnesses expected to take the stand today as lawyers for Michael Jackson’s estate — as well as lawyers for Katherine Jackson and Michael’s kids — give testimony about the proposed deal with AEG about a Jackson memorabilia tour.

UPDATE 7:21 PM ET — The petition has been approved!!! The AEG deal is done, the memorabilia tour will happen. Finally. The three-city tour could earn as much as $6 million for the estate.

UPDATE 7:20 PM ET — An attorney for Katherine wants more protections in the agreement to protect the estate and Michael’s legacy.

UPDATE 7:14 PM ET — The attorney for Michael’s kids is in favor of the AEG deal.
